Abstract

This issue marks the addition of a new series entitled ‘Pioneer Series’, written by experts in the field who have been instrumental in introducing a major advance in the field of cardiovascular science or practice. The first article in this series relates to the introduction of coronary arterial stents by Dr. Ulrich Sigwart. In this seminal article Dr Sigwart describes the past, present, and future of what he describes as “Treatment of coronary artery disease from the inside: Light at the end of the tunnel?”
